Orion is involved in major projects relating to the offshore industry, government communications requirements, resource industry and telecommunications deployment projects.

Managing and executing telecommunications projects in developing countries such as Papua New Guinea provides Orion with an opportunity to promote proven technical solutions that are superior in quality to those available locally, as well as offering excellent value and technical performance.

Orion has established services in Papua New Guinea and is active in promoting a number of large projects all with the authority and direction of the local licensing group Pangtel.

With its access to the NSS6 Satellite, Orion is evaluating opportunities to provide services in selected areas of the South Pacific and South East Asia . Papua New Guinea , East Timor and southern islands of Indonesia characterise the locations in which Orion's expertise and reliability would be highly regarded.

The Orion solution is particularly useful for government agencies delivering services in remote locations where terrestrial infrastructure does not exist.

Reflecting Orion's commitment to expanding its services in the region, Orion will participate in Austrade's New Exporter Development Program to develop critical new skills required for financing, packaging and promoting Orion's products and services in these markets.

In the domestic market Orion is able to provide services to State Government agencies, particularly in the remote Health, education and emergency services areas where terrestrial options are insufficient to meet agency needs.

In addition to targeting government agencies, Orion is experienced in integrating satellite systems into core networks for redundancy on critical infrastructure, including the 3000km long Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline.
