Orion are not restricted by the traditional boeadband supply side factors to regional markets. We have established Orion firmly in position to respond to consumer demand rather than working within the restraints presented by Australia's terrestrial newtworks.
Orion provides a fully integrated voice services over Satellite with Quality of Service (QoS). We have overcome these problems by supplying customers with HughesNet equipment that has both voice and data functionality with an integrated QoS that provides voice over data packets.
Telephony
Using the Orion Voice Appliance Module (VAP) telephony, including fax, can be provided to any site on the Orion network. Telephony traffic is passed through the network as Voice Over IP (VOIP) and is compatible with the Cisco VOIP network standards.
Hence clients can choose to trunk all calls to their own VOIP network or PABX. Alternatively calls can be interconnected to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN).
